Superintendent's Message

Dear Transfer Schools Community,

I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the Transfer Schools Superintendent. As an educator I have always believed that students deserve the supports and time they need to be successful graduates of high school and ready to be productive citizens in their post-secondary lives.

The Transfer Schools District supports our New York City Public School Students that need a fresh start to complete their high school requirements. My goal is to ensure, each student that chooses to attend a Transfer School receives the academic and social/emotional supports they need to be successful. As a district, we do so by knowing our students well, engaging our students and their families in their education, and by sharing best practices and resources across all forty-two schools in the district.

As Superintendent of the Transfer School District, I believe that I can best lead with input from the members of the community, providing support so that all Transfer Schools grow and flourish and celebrating our community achievements. I do so by:

Engaging with members of the principal, student and family advisory teams.
Providing frequent and targeted professional learning for all our school leaders and teachers.
Celebrating our August graduates as a community. Celebrating our community members   achievement of tenure.
Ensuring that each of the Transfer High Schools have environments that are accepting of all and foster life-long learning. Where students are taught and challenged to think, test their thinking, and adjust their thinking as needed.

If you are a student of family wondering if a Transfer School is a right place for you, reach out to the Transfer Schools District team and a team member will be happy to answer your questions, help you find a school that is right for you, and support you through the enrollment process.
